PAST ONE OFF PROJECTS

Declutter!

Mark was asked by a schoolmaster approaching retirement, who explained that he had a family house of over thirty years, which was filled from floor to ceiling with the contents of a lifetime.  He had heard that “Mark was good at that sort of thing”.

Mark inspected the property and produced an informal report, detailing room by room which items should stay and which should be sold or stored.  Within a month, the house was in a suitable condition for it to be advertised and viewed by prospective purchasers.

Staging to sell

Mark was called by a hard-working professional family who were moving to their dream property.  Their house was in technically excellent condition, but looked as if a bomb had gone off.  Taking Mark’s advice they “blitzed” the property from roof to basement, including full decoration.  Stone steps were repaired, trees cut down, lawns mowed and skips hired.  The house went on to the market within a month and an excellent price was achieved.

21st century Tower House

Mark was approached by clients who had bought a medieval Tower House and wanted to make it “fit for purpose” for modern living. The challenges were considerable – the wall were 6 feet thick, there was only one room per floor and there were minimal windows.

Mark advised on the layout of the accommodation which he thought would work best, whilst having an informal look at the condition of the structure. He suggested what kind of outbuilding would be most appropriate and how the garden and grounds could be landscaped, taking into account the long term look of the place.
