In Edinburgh in 2019, the advice to give to an enterprising young person is the opposite of what it was in Nineteenth Century America.

The East End of Edinburgh is on the up, with the complete redevelopment of the “St James Quarter” into a spectacular modern shopping centre.

The Tram Lines are being extended to go down Leith Walk, bringing prospects of prosperity to an area which has remained modestly traditional in character up until now. An impressive new concert hall is being constructed to the east of St Andrew Square, behind Dundas House, the beautiful Georgian mansion which forms the headquarters of the Royal Bank of Scotland.

It is logical to think that once all the infrastructure and construction works have been completed, residential property in the East End of Edinburgh will be worth significantly more.  The completion of the A1 Dual Carriageway led to property prices in East Lothian increasing by at least 20%.  You have been warned!
